What is Pilates?

Created by Joseph Pilates, the Pilates method is practiced on the ground with or without accessories. A form of gymnastics using slow movements held for several seconds, Pilates aims at reinforcing deep muscles and improve posture through postural exercises.

The Espace Zen Pilates classes also have the goal to help you balance your musculature by involving more the weak muscles while relaxing the often exerted muscles of the shoulders, neck and back.

The Pilates’ series of varied exercises gently strengthen the body, refine the musculature and prevent injuries while loosening the joints. During the class, the teacher will monitor the participants’ positions to avoid injuries and optimize the benefits of this method.

The Espace Zen’s Pilates classes are intended for all and can be adapted to your physical condition.
